A thousand words or a picture’s lure?

If it takes a thousand words…to equal a picture’s lure

I’m still going to try and paint with syllables and verbs

And challenge your brain’s synapses right out of the gate

Challenging the inclination towards a path of least resistance

With a harrowing tale conveyed with riddle and rhyme persistence

And if I must hint at the deeply personal in order to add substance to style, then so be it

I’ll unabashedly tackle the often stigmatized and taboo subjects of mental illness and faith

A lull in the conversation often precipitates a mention of ‘bipolar’ and its’ like

And delving into faith and its meaning seems almost taboo in this secular age,

Except with the likeminded or in reactionary fashion to shallow questions

But, I have covered this ground before, and the ‘links’ are there for those wishing to explore

This treatise of sorts is just a reminder that I’m still invested and ready to proceed,

Towards a world where we say what we mean, and mean what we say

And we collaborate and join forces to fight for justice, freedom, and a right to our beliefs
