Walk with me on a solemn path

Walk with me on a solemn path

Walk with me and take note of my solemn path

Let me tell you how time can show both kindness and wrath

Were you to have reached the wondrous peaks I once reached

You would wonder how I can settle for the everyday cobbled road

Were you to have plummeted to the depths of valleys dark and cold

You would wonder how I didn’t succumb and yield to its grim hold

Some might say, that words are cheap,

But these words were bought at a price steep

I am left to my own devices, seeking escape in a parallel world of literary devices

‘We’ have crossed paths at this juncture and ‘page’

And you might wonder, who it is now that’s making this address strange

I am just one amongst many on this escapade that aims to combat stigma grave

And spur a movement of kindred spirits and minds,

To demand ‘we’ become more than a background mime

So, behold as the soundtrack gets more intense

For this set of ‘musical chairs’ recognizes the fallen siblings that could no longer fare

Mental illness is not a zero sum game, and its survivors or fallen are anything but weak

So, hear me on this virtual mount, with a new age sermon deep

I am no Messiah, but I have seen signs and wonders of something beyond this ‘heap’

How else could it be, when my Lord has resurrected me from a thousand living deaths?

And now calls me to seek alliances with those who can change this world’s way of ‘seeing’ us and itself
